Rachael
Charles

With 30 years of experience as a qualified Orthotist, Rachael has an extensive background working in all aspects of paediatric orthotic care and management.
She has worked in the UK and Australia in both private and public practice,
in hospital based and community settings.
Rachael's real passion and skills lie in working with young children
with musculoskeletal and neurodevelopmental conditions such as Cerebral Palsy,
Spina Bifida and other conditions that affect walking and mobility.
Rachael specialises in designing custom made orthoses that make a meaningful
difference to children’s lives, giving them the best possible foundation for movement and
independence. Every orthosis is designed to meet the individual needs of that patient using recognised best practices.
She enjoys working with both children and their parents to understand what they want to achieve and support them to attain these goals.
Rachael has been involved in rehabilitation and tone management (Botox injections) clinics for many years and understand the importance of working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver the best outcome for clients.
Rachael is very experienced in collaborating with other Allied Health or care
providers to effectively manage a client’s orthotic goals in conjunction
with other treatment plans. She can assess, prescribe and fit orthoses in our clinic or your home if necessary. This improves accessibility for individuals who may have difficulty travelling due to mobility limitations or other challenges.
Rachael is available at FPP on: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
